  • Functional fitness: Rather than just wanting to look good, a top trend in 2013 will be the goal to feel good, from increasing balance and coordination to improving strength and endurance.
  • Core training: As more and more studies come out indicating that a solid core makes for a solid body, a focus on stabilizing the muscles of the midsection will be a top priority in the world of fitness.
  • Group classes: Humans are social creatures, and turning something like exercise, which many beginners dread, into a friendly activity is always a hit.
