One of the lesser-known tropical fruits, jackfruit is sweet, bright yellow, and one of the largest tree fruits in the world, coming in at 50 centimeters in diameter and up to 36 kilograms in weight. You can enjoy it raw or cooked and, unlike many fruits, it can be eaten as a vegetable when not ripe. It’s rich in vitamin A and C, as well as essential nutrients like iron, potassium, calcium, and magnesium.

The vitamin C in jackfruit can help to support a healthy immune system and lower your risk of heart attack or stroke, and the phytonutrients can actually protect against cancer.
